Derek Walin

Derek Walin is a DJ, Artist Manger, & Music Entrepreneur based in Miami.

Walin has carved out his niche as one of the most versatile DJs in the Miami, regularly called upon to provide the soundtrack for industry-leading nightclubs and brands.

At thirteen years old he began his career as a professional DJ, playing corporate and social events for the Boca Raton office of a nationwide event entertainment company. Walin was their youngest DJ nationwide, eventually DJing hundreds of events throughout middle school and high school.

After graduating college with degrees in Audio Engineering and Music Business, Derek turned down a job at a major record label in New York City and opted to stay based in Miami to focus on his own newly-formed artist management company and record label, Super Music Group. The DJing didn’t stop either. At 22 years old, Derek became a Friday night resident DJ at LIV at the Fontainebleau Hotel, and headlined global gigs in New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Barcelona, and Dubai.

Since the company’s inception, Super Music Group has expanded its roster to include recording artists, record producers, and DJs across a variety of genres - Including Helado Negro, Steven A. Clark, Ape Drums, and Amtrac. In 2015 Super announced that Derek and his partners had made a deal with international dance music star Kaskade as well as LA-based Little Empire Music to acquire a minority stake in the firm.

Derek has been featured in the pages of Ocean Drive, Nylon, and Billboard. His corporate client list includes top brands such as EDITION Hotels, SBE, PGA Tour, Heineken and Miami Dolphins.

Today, Walin continues to DJ at Miami’s best night clubs, traveling the country as both an artist and a manager. Most recently, Derek and his SMG business partners introduced Dream Machine Entertainment - a hybrid DJ agency and production company focused on private events - based in Miami, servicing clients nationwide.
