About Karin Page
Rootsy alt-country with a dash of folk is how most would describe the style of 2016 Toyota Star Maker Karin Page. This gifted singer-songwriter from Perth moved to Byron Bay in March 2016 with her musical and life partner Adam Nyeholt. Prior to this they’d spent 18 months touring Australia in their caravan, playing music wherever the road led them.
In the past 12 months Karin has released three singles – all with accompanying film clips by the award winning team at The Filmery.
Karin's first single "Keep On" was released in July and added to the ABC National playlist and spent 3 months in the CMC – Country Music Channel Charts. Shortly after the release she hit the road for a 6 week, 18 date national tour whish included 9 dates with The McClymonts as part of their "10 years of hits" Tour.
Her second single "Wherever You Are" was released in December, and has been picked up by over 50 radio stations all around Australia. It debuted at #3 on The AMPRAP charts and has been added to ABC Digital Country.
The 3rd single "Still Got You" is also the title track off her new EP which has just been released. It was produced by Matt Fell at Love HZ studios in Sydney and along with the film clip will be released at the end of February 2017.
After the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Page heads back over to WA to play The Boyup Brook Country Music Festival, where has been nominated for 4 awards – Female Artist, Songwriter of the Year, Single of the Year and Best Film Clip. She is also up for New Artist of The Year at The CMC Awards.
Over the years Karin has played numerous festivals, including Tamworth CMF, Gympie Music Muster, Broadbeach CMF, Nannup Music Festival, Fairbridge Folk Festival and Boyup Brook Country Music Festival where she won Best New Talent and was awarded Best Group for two consecutive years.
Equal parts heartfelt and catchy, Karin Page is making music that is refreshingly honest and intelligent, whilst still being a whole lot of fun.
