Sid LeRock

The Native born Canadian, Sidney Sheldon Thompson aka Sid Le Rock has had a prolific career throughout the 14 year course of his musical endeavors. Sid was one of the first of many North Americans to make the overseas move to Germany in 2003. Currently he resides in Berlin, Germany.

Already making a name for himself with the earned success of his two prior albums releases under the monikers, Pan/Tone and another album as Gringo Grinder, the new project addition as Sid Le Rock, aspired to enhance his creative talents and explore various forms of electronic dance music.

In 2004, his debut as Sid Le Rock was sought after by Ladomat/Mute Records for the release of his highly acclaimed album Written in Lipstick. With the contribution of steady international radio play, TV & Film, this brought upon international attention that launched his musical career to newer heights. Dumbfounded with the success that came as Sid Le Rock, touring the world became a constant foreground for the continued development of his exceptional live performance.

In 2006, came with the follow up album, Keep It Simple, Stupid on Hamburg based label, Ladomat Records. In continuing with his singer / song writer direction, this gave way to his vocal based hit- Naked. Due to it's tremendous success, it was later re-released with an instant classic remix by DJ Koze on Cereal/Killers.

In 2006, his Cereal/Killers Vinyl only imprint was formed in partnership with Kompakt Distributions, enabling him as Pan/Tone to release an 11 part split concept series, in which assembled a co-op of talented friends- Ada, DJ Koze, Gabriel Ananda, Gui Boratto and so forth. Limited to 2000 vinyl copies each, most of the series sold out quickly. As the serial concept came to a close in 2010, it was then that priorities had shifted return to Sid Le Rock.

By 2010, 4 years had past since his last album as Sid Le Rock. He returned to focus with his 3rd album Tout Va Bien, on the wholesome label Shitkatapult, founded by T.Raumschmiere & Apparat.

2013 saw the release of Sid's 4th and most recent album Busted With a Bag of Bliss. His newest productions was rightfully handed into the guided care of Canadian based My Favorite Robot Records. Through prior associations, the fruitful relationship grew with admiration between SLR and the dynamic MFR trio. This lead both into a musically like minded direction, which for Sid, was enviable when asked to produce an album. With MFRR relentless pursuit to promote artistic freedoms, He was enabled to produce the melancholic enhanced album that he so desired. A welcome return to innocence & virtue that is deeply embedded in his voice & sound, to which all attributed to the launch of Sid's lustrous musical career.

In late 2009, He established Beachcoma Recordings along side his long time friends (Metope and Fairmont). The trio run and operate Beachcoma as a means to release their own music that they feel, best represents them as individual artists. As well, under the artist project Beachcoma they produce music together and perform live under this unique group project.

Over a decades worth of electrifying audiences worldwide, compiled with his signature sound is what solidified Sid Le Rock as a reputable musician unto this present day.
