Shashwat Trivedi and Akshay Chaz (Shash & Chaz) begun their carrier in 2011, playing back to back as individual acts before coming to the conclusion that the only logical progression would be to collaborate, since they shared a very similar sonic palette. What marks them apart from other collaborative projects is their ability to sound like one uniform act and not two diverging individuals sharing a stage. Shashwat and Akshay come from two diverging ends of the spectrum in terms of their personality, which in turn adds to their persona. Their dedication to abide by this reputation finds them keeping their process as organised and calibrated as possible. This wasn’t a process that developed over night; with half a decade of experience playing together their tonality has developed with time, which is fairly apparent from the dynamic stage presence they share. Their sounds encompass lush atmospheres, vivacious bass lines and their tonality leans towards the more moody, melodic and dark spectrum, while remaining musically inclined and staying true to the dance floor. Demarking their personal influences from film scores. Being extremely active through the domestic scene, carving a reputation for themselves, playing alongside international acts like Dubfire, Jody Wisternoff, Jay Lumen, Spartaque, Spektre, Dave Seaman, Moonbeam, Stefano Noferini, Pig & Dan, Bart Skils, Third Son and many more. . Crediting their sets at the Vh1 Supersonic Festival, Go:Madras and consistent stints at the Tao Terraces to have a major influence on their sound. It was 2014 when they had the opportunity to play longer sets, which in turn gave them greater exposure and allowed them to explore the more melodic and musical sides of Techno. Exploring a larger spectrum of sounds while being influenced by both club and festival settings. With the frequency of gigs at varying venues and time in their favour their sound is one which is consistently evolving.
