About Fletch

The five monumental lads that head the name Fletch were not always as such. Before they grew to the size they have gained over the years they were merely aspiring individual musicians trying to start something in Vegas. A few years back in math class Guitarist, Ryan and Bassist, Jessie had met. Ryan made it a point to start a band when he started High School. So Ryan talked to Jessie about it over time. They were just buddies at the time, doin' the part their part to make havoc for the rest of the class. They were regularly sent out of class, which at first was a nuisance. Later, when the garage bands they were starting to write music it proved to be a useful time to write music. All of these unstable bands served as a springboard to the current Fletch.

Before Fletch Jessie didn't quite have experience with an instrument. He had a cheap bass sitting around the house and decided it was about time he learned to play. So he did, and he apparently had no problem with it. After a couple of bands that didn't go anywhere Jessie and Ryan decided to try Fletch. They practiced a ot of acoustically and had their buddy Tony over to jam, just for the hell of it. Well Tony busted out some crazy vocals and guitar. So Jessie and Ryan asked him if he'd like to play with them. Tony, being the badass he is accepted. From then on they put in as many practices as they could acousticallt and starting writing as Fletch. They had a problem as a band, though. The now established Fletch had not drummer. Along comes another Ryan who agreed to the task.

Now they had a band, with no place to practice. So, they continued to practice acoustically. Down the road they were able to practice in the drummer's garage about two days a week, but the equipment sucked and they couldn't hear eachother. They solved a few of their problems by all plugging into a mixing board and wearing headphones. This waytheir music was coherent within them. Within time they played their first show, acoustically, at the alley. After much downplay from the established bands around Vegas they finally made a good start. To understand some of their conflicts you must understand Vegas. Though a busting metropolis of entertainment and population, there were few venues where a young band could play for their peers. Thus, the established bands had to dog the up and corners so they stayed... up and corners. The fact that Vegas is so bustling actually proved its downfall as there were some great bands that were held down. Fletch had themselves an ace up their sleeve, though. They took the lead at a new Venue that opened up in Vegas called the Alley. If you talk to all the cool kids around they would probably know what you are talking about. They managed to pull themselves up in the rankings during this time. They were good to go for a decent amout of time.

After a few months the drummer quit due to a change in career. Without a drummer and without a lead singer to just sing, Fletch was in a pickle. Not only did this problem occur, but Fletch also lost appreciation for thier style of music. Things didn't look so hot. They were on the verge of breaking up. They were able to reconsider comfortably when Diego stepped in the picture. Lead singer, Diego had a long history in music before he joined Fletch. He had moved from Illinios as a wee one, and started a couple of bands in Vegas. Later, he moved back to Illinios and joined a few metal/rock bands. In time he pulled a 720 and moved back to Vegas where he joined Verbatym. At a show at the Alley there was a technical problem, which left a goo of silence. Verbatym was scheduled to play there, so Diego was there with a guitar to make the silence go away. Diego busted out a song he had written back in the day. Fletch liked his sound and felt he'd be an excellent lead singer for Fletch. In short time they got a hold of Diego and asked if he'd like to sing for the band. Of course, Diego accepted. Thus the band was back up and running and almost complete.

After traversing through a few bands in Utah. Nick, drummer, was playing for a band called Made My Day. The band was playing at the venue with Fletch. Their Fletch met Nick. Nick and Diego hug out and hit it off as one chiller to another. Not too long after some of Nick's buddies came out to Vegas to see a show. There they met Fletch as well and were informed Fletch didn't have a drummer. So, Nick got their number and called up to do a little audition. After the audition, and after Fletch decided, you're good shit Nick, come play with us, Nick decided he'd leave his home, quit his job, and say goodbye to friends and to go play with a new band that was Fletch.

Next thing ya know, a label started up in Vegas that was all for youthful bands. They wanted Fletch and Fletch was good with that. This label was known as Ifiymm records. That is there they are now. Aside from playing shows frequently outside of Vegas. They are doing the most they can in this city that is so fluctual and unwelcoming, and they are doing ver well. Look out for a new Venue in Vegas. One that should linger and support underage audiences, and watch for Fletch. They may be playing closer to you than you think.
