Wisdom Speeks has been illuminating audiences with a unique style of music affectionately called "Global Soul", under the leadership of Wisdom Speeks aka Whop Craig who formed the band in 2009. Through their music, they have managed in a short period of time to become the new standard as it pertains to the live band circuit in the DC metro area. Perhaps it's the arrangements and that classy approach they take when they perform...or maybe it's the songs filled with those clever melodies and insightful lyrics. Whatever that "something" is, Wisdom Speeks Band has it---and it is infectiously entertaining. With a fan base that ranges young and old, one thing's for sure is they all come to appreciate WS brand of musical storytelling and distinctive rhythm that beats in the hearts and heads of audiences long after the music stops. Their goal is to communicate to all who care to hear the message in the music which is to live, love and laugh with a positive heart, as well as the occasional spoken words of wisdom that only Whop can deliver. “Tomorrow is not promised to anyone so I tell the truth today because with wisdom there is hope that opportunity can bring peace,” Whop adds.

Producing music since the age of 15, and with an extensive amount of experience with live bands over the years, Whop felt it was only right that members of WS be of a similar background. So through trial and error he assembled professional musicians who are exceptional producers and songwriters, and who can leave their egos at home. Together they strive for perfection with the goal to be a high-quality band that not only their hometown can be proud of, but a band that is recognized worldwide for it's excellence. To fully understand how driven this unit is, one only needs to look at Wisdom Speeks' resume. Whop, a Seat Pleasant, MD native, has produced for various artists including Grammy award winning artists Bone-Thugs And Harmony, and multi-platinum artist Snoop Dogg, as well as producing an original soundtrack for the movie “Guilty by Association” starring Morgan Freeman. In addition, he has managed (7) network television shows during his time with BET (Black Entertainment Television). Put that experience together with the collective experience of his "dream team" and what you have are seasoned professionals with broad-based experience in several areas of mass-media (TV/Film) production, marketing, audio/video engineering, and public relations.

When it comes to giving back to the community Wisdom Speeks has co-founded the “Big Brother to Troubled Teens” (BBTT), a mentor program geared towards youth rejuvenation, for which he has received the Urban-City Achievement Award, the prestigious Golden Oak Leaf Award, and the US Navy High-Commendation Award for his community service and commitment. Wisdom Speeks continues to promote the importance of service to others that can make a long term inpact in their communities.
