Guarandinga hails from the hotter side of the San Francisco Bay; bursting forth with a fiery sound propelled by heavy Afro-Caribbean beats from the central coast of Venezuela. Perfectly blended with the gritty East Bay funk that runs deep from Oakland to Richmond, Guarandinga’s unique take on Latin Afro-Pop redefines it’s engaging range of influences. It is the unique Afro-Venezuelan beat, relatively unknown to the pop world, that makes this band’s original music provocative and infectious. Fronted by the dynamic and charismatic singer/percussionist Rowan Jimenez (Orixa) and musician/producer Jeremy Allen, Guarandinga plays high energy music that dares you not to dance the moment you hear them play.
