Een tijd geleden besloot een bende jonge gasten uit Brussel een poging te ondernemen om het muzieklandschap overhoop te gooien. Hun plan: een hoop instrumenten en vooral veel fun! Vandaag bestaat AIRPLANE uit 9 losgeslagen wacko's met het podium als natuurlijke habitat. Ze slagen er keer op keer in om van elk optreden één groot feest te maken. Om het even wie er in de zaal staat, jong, oud, stille genieter of losgeslagen feestbeest, iedereen gaat voor de bijl! Op AIRPLANE valt niet echt een genre te plakken. Al dienen betere ska-groepen als Babylon Circus, Ska-P, Manu Chao, en vele andere wel eens als inspiratiebron. Wat voor AIRPLANE voorop staat, is plezier en amusement. Vul dat aan met een spontane mix van verfrissende ritmes, catchy melodieën, een stevige portie enthousiasme, een vette knipoog en dan is de ambiance verzekerd. Dat de AIRPLANE-formule werkt, bewijzen de vele geslaagde optredens die AIRPLANE achter de rug heeft. Nu AIRPLANE in eigen streek al zo goed als iedereen heeft kunnen overtuigen om mee te feesten, staan ze nu ook te popelen om ook de rest van de muziekwereld te veroveren! Beware! ------------------------------------------------------------ Qu’est-ce donc AIRPLANE ? Dix musiciens délurés dans leur environnement naturel, la scène. Une stratégie infernale qui transforme chaque performance en un grand chambard musical. Race bruxelloise rare et difficile à classer, AIRPLANE présente cependant des ressemblances avec ses principales inspirations : Babylon Circus, Ska-P, Manu Chao, ... Leur modus vivendi, communiquer leurs délires et procurer du plaisir, du fun et de la fête. Leur griffe, un cocktail de rythmes envoutants, de mélodies accrocheuses, avec une bonne dose d’enthousiasme, quelques sous-entendus gros comme des maisons et une définition personnelle de la « présence scénique ». Bref, connus pour avoir beaucoup sévi en Belgique, ce sont des récidivistes de qualité. Attention, le temps de réaliser et il est trop tard, vous êtes déjà en présence de l’authentique ambiance d’AIRPLANE. Their plan: a bunch of instruments and, above all, a lot of fun! Today, AIRPLANE is comprised of ten crazy wacko’s who see the stage as their natural habitat. They succeed over and over again to make every gig one big party. Whoever is in the audience, young or old, the introvert sensualist or crazy party animal, everyone falls for AIRPLANE’s tunes. It’s hard to pin AIRPLANE down in terms of genre. That said, the better ska-bands like Babylon Circus, Ska-P, Manu Chao and many others have been named as sources of inspiration. What comes first for AIRPLANE, is fun and entertainment. Add a spontaneous mix of fresh rhythms, catchy tunes, a large serving of enthusiasm and some roguish mockery and the night can’t go wrong. That the AIRPLANE-formula is one for success is proven by the many successful shows the band has played over the last few years.
