Cal Trask

It’s no surprise that the poignant themes and echoing melodies of Calvin Heinrichs’ latest musical project, CAL TRASK, were composed in the middle of a snowy Montreal winter in 2015.

At just twenty-three years old, the Canadian singer/songwriter is a rising talent in the international music scene. Having recorded in Sweden, performed in the UK and built a significant global following, he’s already demonstrated the universality of his talent and thoughtful, heartfelt music.

The complex and layered sound of CAL TRASK - best described as melancholic “dark pop” - is heavily influenced by Calvin’s diverse musical background (once the frontman of a heavy metal band). Inspired by his struggle with recurring depression, Calvin uses music as an expressive outlet and sees CAL TRASK as a way to connect with listeners and help maintain perspective in an oversaturated world.

Following the upcoming release of Posthumous EP in February 2017, Calvin will be touring through Europe and expects to be back in the studio recording a full length album Spring 2017.
