About Eleven Hundred Springs

Eleven Hundred Springs is a country rock band from Texas. Called "long-haired, tattooed hippie freaks", their influences include Willie Nelson, Buck Owens and Doug Sahm. They are known as one of the few remaining outlaw country bands .

Formed from the remnants of Dallas rockabilly band Lone Star Trio in 1998, EHS is made up of founding members Matt Hillyer (lead vocalist, guitar, primary songwriter) and Steve Berg (upright bass, harmony vocals), along with Danny Crelin (pedal steel), Jordan Hendrix (Fiddle) and former Toadies drummer Mark Reznicek. Their sound is Texas music, deeply rooted in traditional 'old school' country.

Matt Hillyer of Eleven Hundred SpringsThe band's latest release, "Bandwagon", is filled with new and updated songs mostly writtenby the band itself. Hillyer writes many of their songs, including "Thunderbird Will Do Just Fine" and "Long-Haired Tattooed Hippie Freaks".

Coproduced by Tommy Detamore (Clay Blaker, Bill Kirchen, Doug Sahm), the CD features a rare recording of "Why You Been Gone So Long?" with the late rockabilly-legend Ronnie Dawson. Recorded during a rehearsal session in 1993, the Hillyer/Dawson duet is dedicated the memory of "The Blonde Bomber", to whom the album is dedicated.

Their 1999 release, "Live at Adairs Saloon", is one of the definitive albums of the late 90's Texas Music scene. This album, along with their popular Monday night performances at the famed Adair's Saloon in the Deep Ellum district of Dallas, helped make the band a favorite among the college students across Texas. Rising with Texas newcomers such as Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Kevin Fowler, and Roger Creager, Eleven Hundred Springs toured inncessantly across the state of Texas and went on to become one of the state's most respected touring bands.

Eleven Hundred Springs has shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Leon Russell, Dale Watson, Robert Earl Keen, The Derailers, Billy Joe Shaver, Charlie Robison, Hank Williams III, Supersuckers, Reverend Horton Heat, Pat Green and Jack Ingram.
