About Scarlet Skies

The origins of the band go back to 2004, when Michal Radziejewski (guitar) and Michal Spanier (drums) started to play together. For many years, they were looking for their own style and a number of musicians have played with them. In 2008, bassist, Mateusz Turek (ex Among the Enemies) joined the band. Years 2009–2010 were marked with first live performances, but also constant personnel changes. Rotations in the band translated into new arrangements, the compositions gained a lot of riffs heavier than the previous ones. Changing the style coincided with the acquisition of a new singer, Pawel Zaboklicki (ex Let Them Bleed, Concrete), whose vocals fit the direction in which the band was heading. Fresh blood in the band resulted in the recording of several, loosely presented to a wider audience, demo tracks. The band has also appeared on such live competitions as Show No Mercy and Pepsi Rocks. In October 2012 the band decided to open a new chapter in its history. Guitarist Rafal Masłyk (ex Sweet Noise, The Supergroup) joined the band. The tracks gained a breath of freshness and a more metal-core sound. New arrangements, new lineup and a new direction which the group chose resulted in the change of the band’s name. SCARLET SKIES literally forced its way into the Polish metal-core scene. At the end of 2012 the band entered the studio to record the material for their debut album, „No Warning Shot”. First singles, „IAS (Intense Auditory Stimulation)” and “Elegy”, promoting the upcoming release, have enjoyed very favorable reviews. The band’s top-class profile was confirmed by the compilation album released by Metal-core.pl, on which one can find 15 best Polish bands playing metal-core music chosen in an on-line survey. Scarlet Skies took first place in the poll and thus opens the album. The band is well received during live shows. In spite of being a new group, they managed to play gigs with well-established bands like Made of Hate, Lostbone or Materia. Stage presence and live performance have also been appreciated at the Emergenza Festival, where the band came second in the regional finals. In September 2013, band’s first longplay “No Warning Shot” was released. The debut album consists of 11 diverse, melodic and aggressive songs, that appeal not only to the genre fans.
