About The New Electric

Calgary, Alberta’s 2016, YYC Awards “Group Of The Year”, The New Electric, have seen nothing but success since the release of their debut single Life’s What You Make It, which was Canadian radio’s #26 most played Pop song of 2016. The hit song saw impressive chart heights of: #18 on Hot AC, #26 on CHR (Top 40), and #28 on Main AC. Their follow up single, Inside Out was released February 14th, pushing their AC radio peak to #20. The band currently has over 760,000 streams on Spotify along with a healthy presence on other streaming services… all in which they’ve accomplished independently. It all started in the Summer of 2014, when The New Electric started recording with world-renowned producer, Brian Howes (Simple Plan, Hedley, Skillet, Mother Mother) to create an EP that was inspired by the good vibes in Los Angeles, California. The debut EP, Living Loud was eventually released October 28, 2016 to continue their momentum at radio. And to compliment the release, the band went on to support Backstreet Boy – Nick Carter, on a 3-week cross-Canada tour, through November 2016. “We are blown away by how much our fans love our music. It’s crazy to think how much time, passion and fun went into making these songs… and now the world gets to hear them. The fans have been so patient and we are so thankful that they’re here to listen!” – Kyle McKearney (Lead Singer) The leading track from the EP, Ride This Feeling was recorded with producer Ryan Stewart (Carly Ray Jepsen, Victoria Duffield, Owl City), who recently finished working on The New Electric’s upcoming release. This sexy new Summer anthem is sonically inspired by the fun energy of DNCE, grooves from The Weeknd, with a throw-back twist of Michael Jackson. The band plans to release their new single before heading across Canada in April of 2017, with Warner Music Canada’s, Courage My Love. With an impact date set, The New Electric is excited to tour across Canada in support of the single, but most importantly to have the chance to play for their new fans.
