Antagonist Zero

Antagonist Zero have introduced the world to their blend of doom, death and post metal, from small clubs in Finland to large venues and festivals all around the world. And what does Antagonist Zero sound like? Combine aggressive melancholy, beautiful melodies, atmospheric nightscapes and guitar solos and you’ve got it – or just check them out on Youtube, Spotify, Soundcloud or what have you.

The band was formed in Porvoo, 2010 by guitarists Ben and Juho, who wanted to do something different from the heavily death and thrash dominated metal scene around Finland at the time. The founding idea was to have an open-minded approach and combine elements from different kinds of music into a type of metal they would like to listen to themselves. The band came together from a group of experienced musicians from Coprolith, Adastra, Lost in Tears and Cavus.

The band’s releases so far are Nighttime Harmony (EP - Violent Journey Records - 2012), Doomed (Full-length - Violent Journey Records - 2012) and No Tears (MCD - Inverse Records - 2015).

The records have received good reviews around the world. Reviewers have compared the band’s sound to bands like early Anathema and Katatonia, Opeth and Amorphis. In 2017, the band is working on their next full-length album.

Antagonist Zero have been touring extensively in countries including Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, China and the Czech Republic. They have been on the road with bands like Neugra Bunget, Fortid, Noctem and Gra, and shared stages with other great bands such as Marduk, Tankard and Aborted.
