About Steven G. Leonard
Steven G. Leonard is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Clydebank and currently living in South Lanarkshire.
He has been playing guitar since the age of 11, when, after watching the movie ‘Crossroads,’ he fell in love with the guitar and this has been his instrument of choice, obsession and passion ever since.
He dreamt of becoming a musician since that time and has fulfilled that dream in many ways so far, having played in bands and played solo work since age 18. Steven spent some time learning and practicing his art at Beatbox in Glasgow, a studio which was shared by the likes of Belle and Sebastian. He developed his skills in playing, recording, performing and song writing here. He grew up listening to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd and cites these three bands as still being his main influences as well as Paul Weller, Glen Hansard and Damien Rice.
Steven’s previous bands have included Green Ash, Ego Breed, Central, The Storm, Sherpa, Cloud Show and most recently The Face on the Moon with whom he recorded an EP and Album and two singles and a music video. He has played many different venues and cities across the UK from Aberdeen to London and from East coast to West in venues too numerous to mention. His most recent band, The Face on the Moon, played live regularly around central Scotland in the past five years and released an Ep 'Finding light', a debut album, 'Shelter' and two singles 'Be Glad’/’Rocket’ and 'Between You & Me.
When the Face on the Moon came to the natural end of it’s lifespan, Steven used the new found freedom to open up his musical horizons. As well as continuing with his prolific song writing, home studio recording his solo E.P. ‘Getting Out The Boat' ’ and forthciming 3 track Ep 'The Ends Of The Earth' and playing live solo dates.
With this many different facets to his talents and career, you won’t have to wait long for an opportunity to see him live! Watch this space!
