About Eddie Fisher (OneRepublic) | Fan Club

Eddie Ray Fisher was born on December 17, 1973 (world citizen number: 4.014.875.267), and grew up in Mission Viejo, California/USA. Eddie currently resides in Denver, Colorado, where OneRepublic is based. Eddie is the third drummer of OneRepublic. He joined the band in 2005.

He was influenced by music because of his father who was an acoustic guitar player in several bands (his father also played with Bob Dylan) and Eddie wanted to become an acoustic guitar player, too. Unfortunately, after getting a guitar, nobody teached him how to play.

Eddie always was a person tapping on desks etc with pencils or just his fingers. He became serious about drumming when he was 12 years old after he saw a U2 concert in Tempe, Arizona/USA. "It moved me so much that I sacrificed everything to be in music", he says. In high school he started playing in punk and hard rock bands to practice his skills. His feeling for beats was influenced by Hip Hop as well as by Rock music.

Eddie is not only the drummer of the band but also a part of the songwriting team. He has been credited for writing songs such as: "Say (All I Need)", "Stop & Stare", "Someone to Save You", "Won't Stop" and "All Fall Down" of OneRepublic's debut album "Dreaming Out Loud" (DOL). He also contributed to writing the song "Good Life" from the band's second album, "Waking Up" (WU). Eddie also worked as a drummer with Kelly Clarkson and James Morrison.

Eddie uses Gretsch drums which he usually calls "his girls". ;) His current drum set is called "USA Custom". He also uses the "Vintage Glass Nitron (VG)" which is known for its golden glittering outfit. On some festivals and TV appearances he also uses a black drum set. Eddie's drumsticks are Vic Firth 5A/7A American Classic Hickory.

After touring with the guys for more than 20 months (until April 2011) with their two albums "DOL" and "WU" across the States, Europe and Russia, Eddie and his band mates enjoyed the summer and played on some festivals as well as the several Jingle Balls in 2012.

Until winter 2012 they were working on their third album. The promotion single for the organization "Every Beat Matters" called "Feel Again" was released in September 2012, the first international single "If I Lose Myself" was released in January 2013 and the album called "Native" was released on March 26, 2013.

After some promotion concerts in March 2013, they started their first leg of the Native tour in April with shows in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the UK and Ireland. In summer 2013 they played at some festivals before they started their world tour beginning with the States, Asia in fall and Europe in spring 2014. Since May 2014 they were playing the States again with a bigger show in bigger venues. In fall they came back to Europe and Russia as well as South America.

Since that tour they were working on their fourth album. On May 13, 2016 they released the first single "Wherever I Go" which is new, different and modern according to OneRepublic. In August 2016 they released their second single "Kids" which is partly autobiographical. The video was shot in Mexico City. The new album called "Oh My My" has been released on October 7, 2016. Mid-December they released the third single "Let's Hurt tonight" which is the title song for the movie "Collateral Beauty".

Until winter 2016/2017 they did promo for the singles and the album around the world but suddenly stopped as they felt exhausted and the joy of their job was nearly gone. So they cancelled all future promo dates and went silent for a couple of weeks.

In April 2017, OneRepublic published a post on their websites explaining all the feelings and the stuff which happened and occurred during the last months and that they decided to not releasing albums with 10-14 tracks but only singles when they feel the time is right (https://www.facebook.com/OneRepublic/posts/10155575208448912). In late April they started this new era by releasing a brand new song called "No Vacancy" only for download followed by some remixes as well as remixes for older singles.

U2 went on a big anniversary tour around the world and asked OneRepublic to support them during some of their US shows which was a good practice for their own upcoming US/Canadian tour. In July they started with they "Oh My My Tour" powered by Honda Civic which was a big success. The set list included old, new and cover songs and varied from show to show.

Late July they released two brand new tracks called "Rich Love" as well as "Truth to Power" which was the title track for the movie "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" about former United States Vice President Al Gore's continuing mission to battle climate change. With these new songs on the set list, OneRepublic are ready to continue their "Oh My My Tour" in North America as well as Asia in late summer 2017 as well as Europe in 2018.
