Born in Chicago in 1959 and settled in Belgium since the beginning of the 1990s, Steve Gibbs is a specialist of the 8 string classical guitar. In addition to classical training, he studied Carnatique, shamanistic and Buddhist traditions in India and Korea. His recent recital and master class dates include the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Dallas Museum of Art, UCLA, UCSD, Cal Arts, Claremont Colleges and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. His most recent albums are La Catedral (2010), Namu (2010) and Bach Lute Suites BWV 995-998 (coming release in late 2012).
