About Last Exit
Last Exit was an avant-garde jazz band active between 1986-1994, kind of a superband of the genre. The members were Sonny Sharrock (guitar), Peter Brötzmann (saxophone), Bill Laswell (bass) and Ronald Shannon Jackson (drums).
Usually their music was completely improvised and played with great energy (and loudness, in a live setting). Stylistically there was plenty of similarity with punk and heavy rock music.
The band was disbanded when Sharrock died in 1994.
