About Maybe May

MAYBE MAY might have a name that suggests neither here nor there in the springtime, but rest assured, this Mississauga trio are very much affirmed in their sound and style no matter the season. Fronted by Demetrius (vocals/guitar), Rian (bass) and Vitaly (drums), MAYBE MAY’s debut 5-song Eden Project EP (Oct '14) draws listeners in by seamlessly blending heavy instrumentation with graceful melodies which provide a rich tapestry for delivering messages of human conditions we can all relate to: love, loss and betrayal. Since its release, the band has independently released music videos for each track, garnering thousands of views from fans. Each video is crafted with great creativity and storytelling while painting scenes with beautiful color treatments, enveloping viewers in a journey of dark, twisted, sometimes hallucinogenic tailspins like in ‘Strike-Slip’. The video for ‘Will Our Mechanics Synchronize?’ showcases dry humor and the band's penchant for having a laugh - if even at themselves. Debuting their live show at Canadian Music Week, the band has gone onto play other festivals like Indie Week and also picked up a nod from Toronto Independent Music Awards (TIMA) for Best Alternative/Indie in 2015 as well as Mississauga Music Awards for Best Rock in 2017. 2018 sees the band gearing up for the release of their sophomore effort: CRIMES EP. Teaming up once again with Jason ‘Metal’ Donkersgoed in the producer’s seat at famed Orange Lounge studios (Toronto), MAYBE MAY is headed towards a definitive direction. “The songs written for this record are some of the best I’ve ever crafted…we’ve matured as a band and are further in synch musicians…you can hear the passion slap you in the face” says Demetrius. With the title track ‘CRIMES’ out in Jan ’17, the band is set to play higher profile shows as well as hit the road later in 2018. Bigger, better, faster & harder are just some of the expectations MAYBE MAY has laid out for themselves this time around. Everyone's in a band these days! So are we. www.maybemay.com
