About Zaki

1)Zaki is a danish-egypsien mc which mix hip-hop, reggae, afrobeat, worldmusic, latin toghether and raps in danish, english and spanish.
Released his debut "Musikmosaik" on the D.I.Y. label Helicopter. The album got good reviews but didn't get much attention cause it had a D.I.Y. sound and therefor badly produced.
Zaki is featured on the world music project "Oriental Mood" and in the Betty Nansen Theaters version of "Don Juan".

2)Zaki Ibrahim Sho (Iqra In Orange) District Six Music; 2006

Zaki Ibrahim, in a better world, would be a superstar. But superstars get too big, carry an ego as an evil facade, and start getting plastic surgery in the hopes of career longetivity. With that said, I'd like for Miss Ibrahim to shine with the talent that she has, because this is someone who should be, no, deserves to be heard. Shö (Iqra In Orange) is a six-song EP featuring a nice blend of soul, jazz, and hip-hop, which means she can rap and sing. Oh, can this lady sing, and it is that soul side that dominates this CD. She doesnt cater to one side more than the other, as she shows in Grow where she combines singing with nice flows. When she does sing, she moves from one style to the other, sometimes sounding a bit like Sade, other times like Jill Scott, maybe a bit of Erykah Badu or Nikka Costa, and perhaps brings herself off as a cross between Nelly Furtado, Mystic, and Ladybug Mecca. Yet deep within personal tastes and influences comes a voice, someone who shares the spirit of her elders by passing it to those willing to stop and listen. Zaki Ibrahim is one of those where you have to do just that, so the listener will find the joy and pain of the world in her words. The six songs on this EP has more to say than a lot of albums released in the last five years combined. One can only imagine what she is capable of doing with a full length project. Courageous, passionate, and full of soul: the elements that may have been missing from ones musical diet has now been found.
