About Quincy Vidal

Quincy Vidal was established in the spring of 2009, eight months after emcee/vocalist Le'Asha Julius and emcee/producer/vocalist CE met in the Acting Conservatory at SUNY Purchase. A year and some change later they moved into their first apartment in Brooklyn: a tiny 2 and a half bedroom in Clinton Hill complete with mice and roaches. It was there that they wrote the entirety of their first album, The Cookin' In Brooklyn LP. Their debut project gained many comparisons to old school artists such as Digable Planets and A Tribe Called Quest, however, it was established early on that their sound was a unique one. One that married the style of two different coasts, and sent listeners on a nostalgic trek into a new world of jazzy hip hop. Two years later, after graduating from Purchase with BFA's in Acting, they moved back to Brooklyn (this time to Malcolm X Blvd.) and immediately began work on their sophomore effort, Sentimental Moods. Right away it established them as a new force in the underground hip hop scene. An anthology filled with rich musical representations of those everyday moods that humans experience, Sentimental Moods set the tone for what QV was capable of, and they have not slowed down. They play countless shows all over New York City, and have caught the attention of numerous blogs looking to help tell the world about the duo that is Quincy Vidal. QV has opened for hip-hop artists Kendrick Lamar (T.D.E.), Talib Kweli, and Astronautalis (affliated with Doomtree), and have collaborated with artists such as Trevor Hall, Starchild, uhlife, Still Weavens,The Universe Project, & Chazz Giovanni. Upcoming projects: Chi'ren (4.1.16) Sip some Kava and relax. quincyvidal.bandcamp.com @ceofqv @leeocious quincyvidal@gmail.com
