Slimkid3 (born Tre Hardson) first introduced himself to the world as part of the legendary hip-hop quartet The Pharcyde, dazzling crowds worldwide with their singular blend of freaky humor, far-out lyrical imagery, and jazz-laden beats. The fresh-faced South Central natives ushered in a golden era of hip-hop with such timeless classics as “Passin’ Me By” and “Ya Mama”—and unwittingly defined the sound of a generation. Their critically acclaimed debut album, Bizarre Ride II: The Pharcyde, released in 1993, would go on to be certified Gold and later quoted by Kanye West as his favorite hip-hop album of all time.
