In 2017 Big Wy's made its first international debut at the Instituto Guatemalteco Americano (IGA) 2017 International Jazz Festival in Guatemala representing the United States touring the country performing and giving master classes. Guatemala was quickly followed by being selected for the 2017 CR Promising Artists Tour of Costa Rica. Big Wy's Brass Band was hosted by Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano (CCCN) and toured around the country performing for the President Luis Guillermo Solís at the Afro Descendants Day parade Puerto Limón.

This funky ensemble has also had the privilege of playing at other well-known events and venues in and around the Austin area such as “Carnaval Brasilerio” at the Palmer Events Center alongside the nationally renowned Austin Samba School, “Swamp Fest”, and the “HONKTX! 2016 and 2017 Brass Band Festivals”, which brings together some of the most popular brass bands from around the nation, and SXSW 2017 for the Habitat for Humanity Environmedia Party.

The band came together and has since been enjoying making music for both themselves and their audiences. Big Wy’s Brass Band is proud of it's past accomplishments and looks forward to more in the future.
