Effortlessly harnessing their indie-pop roots with a breath of fresh air, the Toronto, ON trio — Brendan DiStefano [singer], Shane Penhale [guitar], and Josh Podolak [drums, programming] — not only envision where they aspire to be, but collectively carry an established artistic history that placed them together today. After months of constant songwriting and collaboration abroad, relentless identity groundwork began behind-the-scenes. Throwback 808 drum machines, vintage synthesizers, and dreamy delay guitar samples filled the pre-production room, perfectly capturing the new group's upbeat personality. Being no strangers to Toronto-based producer Derek Hoffman, Navigate the Sky recorded their addictive debut single "Like A Drug", premiering globally July 2018. Follow-up single "Small Talk" was later released in August, with two installments "Watching Me" and "Infatuation" this past October. Soon after, emotional ballad "Defensive" showcases the trio's versatility. The boys arrive fashionably into the music scene with substance and a spirit sure enough to blossom stupendously.
