Black Tar Prophet

Black Tar Prophet was founded by Greg Swinehart in 2011. They are an Instrumental/Sludge/Noise band who pushes low end frequencies to the limit. Currently in Nashville, TN. June 12, 2012 Black Tar Prophet self released their 1st LP entitled "Note To Nod"(100 cds). Followed by a southern tour. December 2012 Black Tar Prophet teamed up with Atlanta, GA sludge band "Crawl" for a split Cd. Black Tar Prophet contributed 2 songs. 2013 Black Tar Prophet signed with (Domestic Genocide Records) to release their 2nd LP entitled "Deafen" for a 2014 release. As well as being endorsed by (Black Arts Toneworks effect pedals) In the meantime throughout 2013, Black Tar Prophet continued to book shows and tour. "Deafen" was released April 21, 2014 in Digipak CD format/ Vinyl. After the release of 'Deafen" Black Tar Prophet continued touring and writing material. As 2015 approached Black Tar Prophet tracked 4 songs for a split 12' with Pittsburgh's Noise/Metal band "Iron Gavel”. To be released with Broken Limbs Recordings summer 2015. Followed by a Northeast tour. Along with writing their 3rd LP for a fall/winter release.
