About Gutxi
Gutxi Bibang is much needed change to carry the rock n’ roll torch, from the Basque country. His music is not just a reminder of when rock was a socio-cultural force for change in the ‘60s and ‘70s, but a glimpse into the music’s global future. Even his unique moniker speaks of his cultural clash heritage – Gutxi (pronounced “Gu-tchi”), a nickname from his Basque homeland, and Bibang, from his father’s ancestry in Africa.
Gutxi Bibang grew up listening to the classic rock on his sister’s albums Afrika Bibang – but his own sound is unique, a hybrid of psychedelia and blues he writes and performs with girlfriend, L.A.-raised Tabatha Beu on bass.
“We want to deal with politics and social issues in our music, the violence, the poverty, racism, sexism. We believe in the spirit of the “ peace and love revolution.”
