The Depth and the Whisper

Albert Bickley and Dave Tanner formed The Depth and The Whisper as an avenue to share new songs and ideas. “We do what we feel is right for the song. Nothing more, nothing less,” Albert said during production. That has since become a mantra of sorts for the players on stage and in the studio. “It’s difficult to answer typical questions such as, ‘What do you guys sound like?’ when we try to remain free of those preconceptions,” Dave says. “The only way to get to know us is to listen and form your own opinions.” Albert Bickley, a Kansas City native, has been writing, recording and performing original music for years. Everything, including other bands he’s been in, have led to this moment and this project. Dave Tanner, a Canadian who calls Parkville, MO, home, has played bass in numerous bands through the years from rock and heavy metal to folk and punk. Kelsey Cook, also from Kansas City, has been playing drums and percussion for over a decade. Passionate and dedicated, and fiercely talented. She was recently was the 2nd Runner-Up and the only American who placed in the finals of the Hits Like a Girl drum contest. She is endorsed by Soultone Cymbals, Kansas City Drumworks Drums and Carmichael Thrones. Troy Van Horn, originally from Iowa, has played in numerous bands in the Kansas City region. A dedicated musician, he lends his talents to many local musicians. One of the most respected guitarists in the area. Getting what's inside out. From the heart, through the soul and into the fingers.
