About Masai

Who's Masai?: I'm a member of Central Digit (see below). I also handle internet promotion and design for the movement. Personally, I'm a college student finishing up my final year at SUNY Albany, I do graphic design for local businesses that includes signs, flyers, posters and business cards. Some of my designs can be seen on my photo page. This is not something I ever intended to do seriously, but clientele started pouring in and before I knew it I had a side job. Someday I might actually take the time to learn what the hell I'm doing in Photoshop, but for now my clients seem happy. I also work one retail job selling office supplies, and I work one data entry job as an "imaging specialist" which basically means I perform tasks that a robot could do. Anything else you want to know about me can probably be found on my Facebook page

What does Central Digit mean?: It's more of a motto or a creed. Basically fuck the status quo, fuck societal conformity, fuck the ignorant critics and anybody who can't keep an open mind. We took an old message and found a new way to convey it. In the literal sense Central Digit is a play on words. Central (meaning "middle") and Digit (being the medical term for "finger"). It's nothing groundbreaking, but still a fresh spin on the looming resentment of the mental majority. In 50 years somebody will think of a new way to say "Fuck you and fuck your rules!" but right now we're saying it our own way. To put your central digit up to society is to go against those who try and replace originality with the more easily controlled commercial clones that exist today. Some people still find it offensive, but those are the people that can't understand the irony in our music or our message and therefore deserve to be offended....

Who makes up Central Digit?: Central Digit consists of 4 members, but the movement is potentially limitless. JPlus and Masai are brothers. Sin and Kaine are brothers. 4 brothers, 1 message, Central Digit.

When did Central Digit form?: Sometime in 2002, but we have all been rapping since a few years before then. Once all of our ego's got in check we were able to get more organized as a group.

Where do you guys rep?: Upstate N.Y. Thats where we rest at... We all linked up in the Tri-City even though we grew up in different parts of NY.

What the fuck is wrong with y'all?: Nothing man, we just got a sick sense of humor. You can hear that in our music. You can read it on our website. You can tell when we walk down the street that we have too much fucking fun doing what we do. We can't let other people get in the way of our movement. We are all about doing new things with music, or at least putting our own spin on it. We want people to hear our sound and know that their is more to it than just that typical rap shit.
