Jonathan Samuel Baker [Born 15th November 1987], better known by his stage name JSB, is a Liberian born Rapper who currently resides in East London. JSB’s love for music began at the tender age of 12 when he would spend hours rapping over instrumentals and record using his tape player. The hunger to be a better emcee was the ultimate goal and this would prove to be his greatest attribute. JSB would go on to create his first ever song ‘’ Let me be free’’ and recalls the moment as incredibly fulfilling. At the turn of 2004, ‘’ Born to Rise Vol.1’’ mix tape was conceptualised in the midst of building his home studio. With every year passing, JSB would continue to better his flow, lyrics and delivery in order to be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. To date JSB has released 6 mix tapes under his imprint Young Future Entertainment and is going from strength to strength. JSB cites his musical influences as Jay-Z, Nas, Russell Simmons and Rick Ruben. JSB defiantly states that illmatic (Nas) and Blueprint (Jay-Z) are two albums that shaped his whole style and helped him hone his method of creating music. Compositions like ‘’One Mic’’ and ‘’Never Change’’ would be instrumental in learning how to switch flows on different tracks as well as educate him on how to create timeless pieces of work. JSB has performed in Liberia (Unite Against Aids Concert) where he performed alongside 2Face, Tony Tetula Aki , Paw Paw (Nollywood Actors) and then went on to reach Number 1 in the Liberian National Charts. JSB will release the highly anticipated ‘’ Baker Street ’’ project on the 26th February 2016. The project was recorded, mixed and mastered in his home country of Liberia. Expect a fine body of well thought out music with an emphasis on quality production and punching lyrics that will do nothing but make you question the status quo.
