About Kulture

KULTURE is a lyrical rapper/poet from the Westside of Detroit, MI. The 22 year-old decided to pursue music after discontinuing his collegiate career at Wayne State University. Though he began rapping at the age of 19, KULTURE has been involved with music since an early age. He started playing the Djembe in the 2nd grade and continued on to receive intensive training in various percussion instruments in the Cass Technical High School music department. As a true lover of the arts, KULTURE began writing poetry at the young age of 12. He grew up in the church, attended an African-centered grade school, and has had a strong influence from various types of literature early on in his life. It is from this background in which KULTURE seeks to create, not only music, but a listening experience through painting pictures with words onto the blank canvas known as your ears. Initiating his music career in 2014, the lyricist has since released 3 studio projects and will drop his debut album in 2017. Although he is not yet a seasoned veteran in the rap game, KULTURE, Detroit’s best kept secret, has been making waves and taking jabs at the underground hip-hop scene. He is currently the reigning champion of countless rap battles and competitions throughout Michigan and has no plans of slowing down. KULTURE also represented Detroit and the entire Midwestern region at the 2016 South By Southwest Music Festival, one of the nation's largest annual music festivals in Austin, Texas, in March. The artist exhibited nothing short of top-notch talent on each stage. With the highly-anticipated release of his 4th studio project dropping in the late summer of 2016 and “The Progression” which is releasing in 2017, it is clear that KULTURE is here to stay. ...it is suggested that you prepare for the flood. This is the official page of KULTURE, 22, of Detroit, MI. An aspiring rapper, poet, and musician looking to enlighten a few souls and sway a couple spirits
