About For Millennia

The band officially launched in August 2014 with their two debut singles “Endurance” and “Sacrifice”, which were very well received by members of the Adelaide music scene and beyond. On the back of a successful launch, For Millennia played their first show in September 2014 in support for large interstate act Closure In Moscow at Progfest 2014. The event was held in Adelaide’s Enigma bar and the band received very positive feedback from a large number of audience members. In November 2014, the band opened for another large interstate act in Sienna Skies at Adelaide's Black Market. The band got off to a flying start to 2015 by supporting Caligula's Horse on the Adelaide leg of their Australia-wide "A Gift To Afterthought" tour, also sharing the stage with Melbourne's Alithia and good friends Dyssidia. Since then, they have shared the stage with locals Tomorrow Rising, Overview Effect, Larsen and more recently Favour The Brave. For Millennia released their debut EP 'Where The Ocean Ends' on July 19th 2015, including the single 'Ocean' and soon after played at Jive on the 14th of August in celebration of Dyssidia's sophomore release 'Children of Aether And Earth' alongside Orsome Welles (VIC) and Born Of Dust. In January 2016, For Millennia released the single ‘Final Taste of Bliss’, headlining a show with locals Amaterasu and Machine Children to follow it up. In April, they shared the stage once more with Caligula’s Horse as part of their ‘Turntail’ Australian Tour alongside Perth prog titans Chaos Divine. “Their off kilter riffing, soaring vocals and twisted melodies will captivate the crowd instantly.”

 - Eli Chamravi, Wild Thing Presents “For a band that’s only been around for 12 months, the quality of [Where The Ocean Ends] is amazing!” - Clint Brice, This Is Our Sound 100.5 WOWFM “For Millennia is a band with more to offer than many of the other more recent prog metal bands to appear in recent years.” – Rocking Charts “Vocalist Henk Plaggemars keeps nailing those high notes and holding them, piercing through the headphones. It's a big tick from us.” – Brett Pike, The Skategoats "[For Millennia] have only been around for about a year but have already released a huge “demo” (definitely not just a demo)... propelled by intricate drumming, metal-guitar riffage, soaring keys and bass lines... all topped off by the emotive charisma and poetic vocals that soar through the room from the diaphragm of front man, Henk Plaggemars [and] Rory Amoy who boasts the capacity to melt your face with screams more br00tal than a lot of front men in the game." - Callum Parr, One & Three Blog “Adelaide metallers For Millennia unleash their debut EP Where The Ocean Ends with a show of sheer ferocity and a knack for infectious melodic passages.” - Progsravaganza “One of the most striking aspects of this debut EP from For Millennia is a rather majestic flow, which takes a run of five songs and turns them into something with much grander allusions. “ – The Moshville Times 'Where The Ocean Ends' EP OUT NOW!
