About Tommy Ray
My musical career began to take shape when I first hit the stage in 2006, only four years after I decided to finally pick up the guitar. Even then, it was clear to audiences at the venues I frequented that my songs, which employ a myriad of inspiration, wouldn’t be so easily categorized.
“I believe my music is my inner voice screaming aloud, expressing my emotion, thoughts and life experiences.” And listeners can certainly find all of these elements at play on my debut EP, “Crossroads.”
Throughout the stylistic shifts, my signature rasp, unwavering melody and down-to-business songwriting tethers the tracks together for a brilliant first step into the hearts of music fans the world over.
I am already hard at work on a follow-up album that will bear more of my alternative-rock side and push my songwriting abilities to even greater lengths.
In the meantime, I am connecting with new fans and stacking up achievements, including earning a finalist spot at the Texaco Country Showdown Jackson two consecutive years, sharing a stage with Little Big Town, and being featured in the Jackson Free Press, which called my debut “a ride worth taking.”
I am very grateful of my humble beginnings down a red dirt road, located in Zama, MS with a population of 36 where I was born. To be able to have seen so much so far I am truly blessed. I continue to have dreams, faith, and hope that my adventures will continue to be miraculous.
