HOLY MATRIMONY - "with all the hallmarks of a major pop act" (Louder Than War) - conceive songs that expand into lush aural panoramas; enormous, colourful soundscapes spray-painted onto canvasses of brooding electronica. "Influenced in equal parts by the masters of the 1980's and present day artists" (Emerging North), HOLY MATRIMONY underpin frontman Roger Damen's baritone, mid-era Depeche Mode delivery with luminescent, crystal clear guitars - most patently demonstrated by latest release, 'If You Cannot Love Yourself', which is in itself a big, bright and bold statement of intent. A true labour of love for its close-knit core of Damen, Jonny Adams (guitars), and Jack Ellis (bass), HOLY MATRIMONY represents a union of diverse and contrasting musical influences through spiring choruses, classy melodies and an energetic live show.

Coming together in 2015 from wildly different musical backgrounds, HOLY MATRIMONY were born from a desire to create something honest and unique. Eschewing any self-conscious notion of what a band 'should be', they unite behind a genuine love and acceptance of their personal musical influences - no matter how incompatible they may seem - and blend them together to generate the distinctive, uplifting sound that defines HOLY MATRIMONY; perhaps most notably, the use of synths and electronic drums has been the cornerstone of their songwriting from the start, with Damen and Ellis' 2009 synth-prog vanity project The Art Of Parties the fuse that ignited guitarist Jonny Adams' interest in sharing their vision. HOLY MATRIMONY is in equal measure Damen's indulgence of black metal and Abba; Ellis' longstanding love affair with soul and funk and Adams' proficiency in jazz guitar and 8-bit soundtrack design. Together they make the HOLY MATRIMONY sound: a sound unique as it is familiar.
