Nicky Pearson

Influenced and inspired by powerhouse voices like Martina McBride, Nicky has been compared to Carrie Underwood and Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks. She has performed the Canadian National Anthem at the Northlands Chuck Wagon Finals, Borden Park Canada Day Celebrations and showcased at the Canadian Finals Rodeo after being named runner up at the Country Vocal Spotlight Competition in 2008.

One of her most rewarding and personal achievements was organizing the "Rocking For Belle" Fundraiser event in 2014 raising $11,000 towards a wheel chair lift van for her sister who's a single mom to her niece who has a severe Cerebral Palsy. She wrote a song for her niece called "Isabelle" and hopes to continue to give back to the community like this. “If I can motivate and empower others through my music then that is truly special.” She released her first independent single with the help of Producer Scott Greene of Powersound Studios spring of 2015. “Scott was able to bring my love of rock to make this country tune fresh and upbeat, bringing in more electric guitars making it a little more edgy but still getting the emotion across. It tells a love story, but also brings a message of strength and courage, that you are able to overcome a love so powerful that you can come out of it being a stronger person in the end, because you know it’s the right thing to do.”

Her most recent accomplishment was winning 1st place in the Global Country Music Star Search 2015 in Edmonton. Part of her prize includes a year mentorship and a trip to Nashville March 2016 and chance to enter in the North American Country Music International Awards. “I am so excited to get to Nashville, just to have the opportunity to get in front of songwriters that could help me write a song that fits my full vocal range, it would be a dream come.” Stay tuned for more exciting things to come from this Edmonton based country singer songwriter.
