About Alex M

Alex Megane, born in 1978, Sports and English student. Alex Megane has always loved music. At school, he was a member of the school choir and helped to establish the local Schulfunk, a radio station for students. He started to work as a DJ at school parties and in small clubs. In 1993, Alex Megane began to produce electronic music, then using four-channel music programmes. After he had finshed his A-Levels he took up studying and in addition focused on music more seriously. In 1999, he met Thomas Jahnke (Scott Cordan) who then became his producing partner. The opportunity to work in a professional studio and to use professional hardware equipment naturally opened new sonic dimensions. Around the same time their deejaying at several events in Northern Germany started. Encouraged by lots of positive reactions on their productions they decided to release an album in a very small edition which sold within little time. Alex had several projects running, solo and with other producers. In 2001, he finished a remix for a dance act called Tamo. More remixes and productions followed, including the official 2002 Jobparade anthem. „Sunrise At Home“ with lyrics by Alex was released under the alias Donkey Doo vs. Tory Kay and calling himself Mindworkers, Alex also did a remix of the track. In the same year, fairly successful remixes under his established pseudonym Alex Megane followed as well as productions for other DJs some of which even entered the dance charts. In late 2002, Alex and Scott eventually founded Cosmic Culture, a project that finally kickstarted their musical career. They produced the track „Our Future“ which was the anthem for Spätschicht (Nightshift) the Jobparade 2003’s pre-party. 2003 saw more high-profile remixes, including tracks for Klubbingman and Jumanji. The latter owes his Spanish record deal as well as his Spanish radio chart Number One entirely to the Cosmic Culture remix.

In 2004, Alex released his first solo single „So Today“, which entered every dance chart available and became a major success in Germany and other countries. From now on his remixes meant some kind of guarantee for tracks to succeed in the charts that otherwise probably wouldn’t have gained such a high chart position. In the mean time Cosmic Culture (unfortunately) has turned into a solo project. But Alex is determined to keep the spirit alive – Cosmic Culture will always be a first rate item in the international dance business and there’s still a lot to come. Watch out!
