About Cosmo Gold
Cosmo Gold is an LA-based alt-pop group that formed in 2019 including Emily Gold (vocals, guitar, synth, keys), Mike Deluccia (drums, synth, keys, guitar), Stephen Burns (bass, guitar, vocals). Cosmo Gold 1st gained attention with their single "Drown The Fly" (2019) when it premiered via Stereogum and Paste Magazine and appeared on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist. Their debut EP, Waiting on the City (2019) was produced by Neil Wogensen (Valley Queen) and includes contributions from Dash Hutton (Haim, Mini Mansions).
The group’s name and call to exploring the unknown come from front person Emily Gold’s late-father, Andrew Gold ("Thank You for Being a Friend", Linda Ronstadt). Gold (an aspiring UFOlogist) was obsessed with all things occult, displayed most recently by his posthumous viral mega-hit "Spooky Scary Skeletons". Andrew wanted to name Emily “Cosmo” and therefore the band has taken on this name as an honorary alter-ego of sorts that aims to continue the family tradition of exploring far away places.
Their debut album ‘Krong’ is out now. Krong - a place to find comfort in doubt as a virtue. A self-aware, almost-utopia that sheds light on the humanness of hesitancy. Because they say, ‘follow your heart’ - but what if your heart is wrong?
After all, we are told to never doubt, but what is doubt than another belief? Escape your life, and enter Krong…
