About Evan Nachimson
Evan Nachimson is a singer, songwriter and artist community builder Brooklyn, NY.
The timelessness of Evan’s music and proficiency as a live performer is palpable. Evan has released three EP’s: the self-produced existential, coming of age, Questions; collaborative EP, Questions - Re-Envisioned; and the exploration of his own battle with clinical depression and developing compassion through hardship in NIGHT FALLS FAST. The third EP shares the same title as Kay Redfield Jamison’s book, which was influential to Evan during his deepest struggles with mental welness.
Evan is known as a supportive figure in the post-folk, alt-singer/songwriter movement in Brooklyn. He sees music as a way to emotionally validate his listeners, and offers his audience a deeper connection with themselves and the people in their lives. Vulnerability and its power are ever-present in his music and live performance.
As a community builder, Evan began threw intimate house concerts in his Bushwick basement apartment several years ago. This project grew into a venue called “The Candle Room,” a monthly space that features up-and-coming artists from the New York City area. As the project continues to grow, it remains as intimate as its earliest Bushwick basement days.
Evan recently raised $6,000 for “Stand Up To Cancer,” using his song, “I’ll Be There For You.” He is currently writing and recording new music and literature in New York City.
