About Jesse Hunter

I started playing music because I didn't have any friends... really. I moved to a city where I didn't know anyone (New Orleans) after college to do some volunteer work. Shortly after arriving, I started attending open mic nights as an audience member. Though I had played guitar in a band before, I had just started writing my own songs and decided one night I would get up on stage. Pretty quickly, I was getting show offers and was starting to gain some traction in the city. Unfortunately, the company I was working for went out of business and without any money and no prospects, I had to come back to Omaha. Again, I started playing the open mic circuit and, eventually, started getting show offers and gaining a small following. It seemed people were connecting with my music and I decided I would go on my first tour. I booked 80 dates total, split over two six week runs. The gigs varied in succession, but, again, people were really connecting with the songs and giving wonderful feedback. More than anything, I was realizing the connection we all shared through similar experiences, even though we grew up in different places under different circumstances. On my way back from the final show of the first leg of my tour, I was I got caught in a snow storm and totaled my car. Since I was out a car and now had the cost of buying a new one, I had to cancel the second leg of my tour. I was stuck at home an decided to make use of the time. So, I started recording a new set of songs. It was the most in-depth I've gone in recording and the end result is a new EP called People and Places, which I'll be releasing, soon. It's been a wild ride and I continue to look forward to the next chapter. Whatever it holds, I know I will get to make beautiful noise with beautiful people, and that is, truly, the thrill of a lifetime. Thanks so much for your support, ears, and time. For anyone kind enough to give me any of those things, I promise I won't take it lightly. Love, Jesse Singer/ Songwriter/ Musician.I wear tight pants and kind of sound like the radio. I'm not sure if music can change THE world, but I think it can change A world, and that's a start. Love, Jesse
