I was getting ready to move back home to Colorado. Wife and son had already moved. I was by myself still working and prepping our house for sale in Hillsboro. I decided to drive to McMenamins and have a beer. I did not know a band was playing. I got out of my car and could hear some chords cranking out from behind one of the buildings. I immediately knew, sight unseen that I really liked the what I was hearing. When I was very young I heard Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps, Hey Hey on the radio. That is probably the only other time when I have heard the first few chords of a song and loved it, and not to be punny, it struck a chord in my sonic soul. I walked near the stage and loved everything I heard and witnessed. The music, vibe, look, their music feels so good. You can tell they have paid their dues, worked hard and most of all are committed to their music. Every note they play, they play with conviction. You can feel this in a much different level. It punches you in the gut in a good way. The music does all the talking with this band. During their break, I chatted with the Sean and Brian. Just like those first chords I heard, I new out of the gate these guys are authentic and genuine. I have spread the word to everyone I know that loves music about this band. The National Reserve are the real deal. Think of bands, like Crazy Horse, The Band, where the sum of all parts create a magical experience. This band is special. I have loved music my whole life. I have seen it all. Very rarely have I come across a band like this. I can't say enough about them and there is not one bit of doubt they are going to headline some very big venues. These guys did it the right way. Hard work, hard work, hard work and it shows. Once you see them you will be hooked. In another life, I wish I could be their tour bus driver/ gear humper/tour manager/whatever just to see them play. That's how much I love this band. George - gesassano11@msn.com

The national reserve is an awesome band!

Great set. We caught them at Nelsonville Music Festival early in the summer where they played the Campground Stage till 2am. Didn't disappoint then, and they certainly did not disappoint last night at the A&R Bar. Awesome guys, they hung around and took pics and had some beers.
