About Jaime Robbie Reyne

J.R. Reyne has been performing for as long as he can remember; whether on-stage or in the studio with award-winning artists and producers, or lending his acting talents to myriad productions spanning throughout his extensive career. His name may carry a famous tag, but J.R. Reyne most-definitely holds his own, whether releasing his debut album at the age of 20 (‘Album of the Week’ - Daily Telegraph), fronting bands ‘Rushcutter’ & ‘The Paradise Three’ (‘Artist you should know about’ - Rolling Stone), or taking his solo-show (‘Armed with a mesmerising voice, harmonica and guitar…’ - Broadsheet), across the globe, gracing the bills of world-renowned festivals, and touring alongside illustrious artists. Having recently returned to Australia from being based in the U.S. and touring Europe with Cat Power, J.R. wasted no time, releasing ‘Baby Tonight’ to the airwaves (Triple M Artist of the Week), and landing roles in both 'Winners & Losers' and the lead in Paul Kelly’s musical ‘Deeper Water’ with co-star Missy Higgins - Reyne recorded the accompanying album in Auckland this year at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios. J.R. currently stars in Channel Seven’s number one TV show ‘The Secret Daughter’, alongside Jessica Mauboy. The accompanying, ARIA #1 Record "The Secret Daughter Soundtrack” also features tracks performed by Reyne and Mauboy, including such hits as ‘Good Times’ and ‘Rocks’. J.R. has just released his new LP ‘Go On Easy’, and to support toured Australia - Winter 2017 with US band Train, to rave reviews. ------- "Artist you should know about!" - Rolling Stone Magazine (Australia) ALBUM OF THE WEEK - Kathy McCabe, Daily Telegraph "It's a beauty - keep an eye out for him. Love the sound of that one...at the very top of the bracket." - Caz Tran, Triple J "...you must catch him playing around town - this guy is good!" - Jeff Jenkins, Inpress Magazine "JR Reyne is poised to become Australia’s foremost alt.country export...This EP sets a more than solid (and free to download) template, a groundwork for JR Reyne’s future endeavors - highlighting a lyrical maturity and deft melodic sensibility that belies his age." - Nick Clarke, Poncho "Armed with a mesmerising voice, harmonica and guitar, JR Reyne bares his soul through raw, unadulterated lyrics..." - Broadsheet Sydney "...you need to remember to breathe in his presence. Australian native JR Reyne is gracing N.Y.C with his deeply penetrating sounds, gaze & inspired lust for the blues. His acoustic sets are as powerful as an arena experience & his is living true. His harmonica & him can howl endlessly together like a rock & roll legend. He has nothing to hide on stage & the lyrics feel more than honest. It's a beautifully raw & merciful variation of rocking-roots-country-blues. He has fans from all over the World & we recommend you become one too. If you like Jeff Beck & co, you will love Jaime Robbie Reyne! What a dream. Don't miss a beat." - Valeria Likhova, The Passenger NYC "...voice is so real it hurts; the raw emotion is carried in every note, creating an intense intimacy that envelops the whole crowd. His electric guitar is more than enough to carry his soulful country blues, which is at once both joyous and mournful (in a Cruel Sea kinda way). Absolutely gutted to find that his free, hand-carved CD didn't play when I got it home. Next time, Dr. Reyne, next time." - Drew Clarke, The Brag Magazine "...he blew the crowd away - a wonderful voice, full of vibrato that expresses sadness and longing. It moves you...has the charisma, the voice and some great songs - the best this year!" - Neil Wedd, Indie Initiative "...I'm thinking Jeff Buckley and after a couple more tunes and a change to his dirty electric guitar it felt a bit more like Ry Cooder - even a little B.B. King" - Mark Goddard, Inpress Magazine "...impressive collection of country-flavoured rock." - Shane O'Donohue, Hit Herald Sun J.R. Reyne - Go On Easy, Vol. 1 - OUT NOW
