About Annalé

A perfect blend of Neo-Soul, R&B, and Pop...is how Annalé best describes her music. Currently based in LA, Annalé was born in New York and raised in South Korea and New Jersey. Being exposed to many different cultures and experiences growing up reflects her integrated sound. “I love music that I can feel and am pretty eclectic when it comes to the types of music that I’m into”, shares the 23-year-old. “When I discovered artists like Lalah Hathaway, Erykah Badu, Floetry, India Arie,Norah Jones, Adele, Sadè, Jill Scott, Brian McKnight, Mint Condition, Musiq Soulchild and Lauryn Hill, I felt something almost visceral. Their music, melodies, move and inspire me.”

Barely able to reach the pedals, Annalé first started playing piano at the age of 4. Having musician parents played a big role in being exposed to music early on. Her father is an active orchestral conductor/composer in South Korea and her mother is an organist. They discovered her vocal talent during middle school.

With both classical training and an ear for melody and strong structure, she auditioned for Berklee College of Music and was selected as one of the seven Presidential Scholars receiving a full 5-year scholarship to the prestigious school. “At Berklee, I majored in Contemporary Writing & Production and Vocal Performance and was constantly surrounded by amazing musicians from all over the world; it helped to sharpen my musical skills and performing with my band helps keep me fluid and improvisational.”

With her debut album coming soon and the single “Roses” rising on Billboard’s Urban Adult Contemporary Charts, Annalé is positioning herself to musically and culturally reach a global audience. With its Neo-soul groove, funky bassline, and jazzy sensibilities, “Roses” is gaining notable buzz on Billboard’s R&B Airplay charts, currently standing at top 27 with a potential to rise even more. It is also being played in multiple radio stations and all the AMC theaters across the U.S., gaining lots of attraction and attention from the listeners. Numerous amount of music blogs, magazines and websites are writing and sharing about Annalé, praising about her soulful vocals and the impressive debut single.

While some may be amazed that this voice comes from an unlikely source, Annalé and those who follow her aren’t too surprised at all. “People who really love music don’t care how it’s packaged or presented, they want to know if you can sing, you can move them. That’s why I create music, not to follow the culture norms, but to reimagine them,” says the soulful siren. Her debut single “Roses” is currently available to download on iTunes and to stream on Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music and many more. Expected to release at the end of the year, her full self-titled album will have “Roses” along with many other tracks including Korean versions and also a collaboration track featuring the legendary Stokley Williams from the Neo-Soul/R&B Group “Mint Condition”. With such great buzz and attraction happening right now in the U.S., it’s a matter of time that Annalé will be reaching a wider audience beyond the U.S. and for the Asian/Korean entertainment market to notice her.
