About Slater Slums

Slater Slums were formed in 2014 by founding band members Kevin Brown and Joe Lemerise in the "slater slums" area of Huntington Beach, CA. The band quickly became a vehicle for their stylistic appreciation of classic and alternative rock, as well as a tribute to the harder side of life growing up in a rough neighborhood. Their debut EP entitled "Fired Up" is a collection of songs written by Brown and Lemerise displaying the beginning of their song writing collaboration. In the spring of 2016, Rene Hernandez joined the group as permenant bassist, thus completing the Slater Slums line-up. Ever progressing, the "Slummy" sound reflects the feelings of band members toward the world and the people around them. The band continues to move forward with a harder sound and has adopted a theme that is rough around the edges, and cannot limit them to one specific genre.
