There is no homeland for who roves the world like a place for learning.This is how a rythm from everywhere and nowhere unfolds, showing its own sound, with shades and winds of one and many, that with no doubt so we are all.
Ranarex’s language comes and goes with its own sway, entering and exiting, expressing himself in both languages which have served him as bridge like the latin and anglo-saxon beats, which tug from here and there.We are all and we are one, we are and we let, some species like RANAREX who lets himself be on whatever he walks and then disappears again.
Ranarex presents this new production entitled "Rockocó" featuring: "Santa Cecilia"as his first single.This work shows a time of evolution captured from journeys and experiences. Showing long treads from places as remote as Sweden he mixes this distance within space, never forgetting his latin-american roots. Musicians from different countries such as Venezuela, Paraguay and Argentina to name a few have been involved in the project. Ranarex maintains his rock base, though the playfulness of musical colors like mariachi, cumbia, son jarocho, quebradita, banda or ranchera, take the project elsewhere. Unable to deny a constant change, Ranarex touches the electronica, and the result is a faint tone which oscillates between the english indie rock flavor and the sounds of recondite corners of mestizo villages.
Ranarex is born in Mexico City but has spent a great deal of his life in the heart of Brooklyn, where he formed the band “Barra Libre” he appeared here as the lead singer, electric guitar and violinist.They shared stages with artists and bands like Kinky,Timothy Browny, Rana Santacruz and Zoé in the United States and Mexico in fesivals such as SXSW in Austin TX, Bowery Ballroom and Shae’s stadium in NY, La Mansión and Artic Bar in Mexico City.This is how he tries out new and constantly changing audiences in the New York scene and finds his own sound. Rockocó is an experiment of journeys and emotions, rythms and colors. It is worthwhile to let oneself go and find in the vast map of sounds, the one which you can connect to.
Ranarex is a metaphor, whispered in Spanish, near the ear lobe to fly over an ocean of worn out dreams on a sugar plane with the mist as the engine.
