About Band Of Babies

Robyn Ludwick is the “baby” of the Robisons, the First Family of Texas Music. Ever the rebel at heart, Robyn has distinguished herself as one of the most ferociously compelling voices not only in her native Lone Star State, but across the wider Americana landscape. Her albums have made Top 10 lists of Austin City Limits, No Depression, KGSR & KUT. She was weaned on Bandera dancehalls, trading old men slow dances for silver dollars and sipping Shirley Temples. Her Texas Roots made her the writer she is today, recently crowned “The Queen of Modern Texas Country Soul” by No Depression Magazine. Kacy Crowley Once called "Bob Dylan with tits" by a legendary A&R rep at Atlantic Records, this tiny singer-songwriter has continued to write and record her own music since her big major label days in the 90's. With a natural ear for pop melodies and twenty years of Texas music running through her head, this new batch of songs is Americana at its best- well travelled, broken hearted and bad to the bone. Baby of the family, Kacy says “I’m great, but I’m also a dummy. I love cake and fleecy pajamas!” Kevin McKinney Texas Music Hall of Famer. Austin Music Icon. Gifted and Talented Song Writer. Character. All easy to say. All hard to live up to. Kevin does. An Austin fixture since the 90's, With his band Soulhat he helped turn the Black Cat Lounge on 6th Street from a biker bar into what amounts to a jam/ funk myth. And today his songs, old and new, live on, making people happy and continually inspiring other Austin musicians, including his partnership with Tony Scalzo (Fastball) in their popular band WRENFRO. John “Lunchmeat” Ludwick Bass player extraordinaire with moves ranging from “Look-at-the-dog” to “Bucket-of-Blood. John “Lunchmeat” Ludwick is a man of few notes and can play the “Country Bass” and the “City Bass”. Meat has been fired from the best bands in Austin and has graced the stage of the Grand Old Opry & Austin City Limits. Early work includes answering Austin Chronicle want ads for Spiney Norman, Animal Justice and Swamp Thang. Chris “Rusty” Gebhard Baby guitarist has been rocking Austin, Texas stages since moving from Milwaukee in 2000. Chris now sports a very hip haircut and has left his baby business suit back in the basement of his parent’s house. When he’s not being a baby, he can be seen with WRENFRO, Skyrocket, Patrice Pike, and his own projects. “Special” Ed Jarusinsky Has a deep passion for music, only equaled by the free beer provided at live shows. When he’s not playing “boom”, he’s usually playing “bap”. Ed was voted Greatest Drummer of All Time by his mom, “though she claimed the election was rigged”. Ed loves taking loud walks on the beach, and practicing Tai Chi while drinking Chai Tea. Ed can also be seen performing with WRENFRO, Joel Guzman & Robyn Ludwick. Austin super-group Band of Babies is Kacy Crowley, Robyn Ludwick, Kevin McKinney, John "Lunchmeat" Ludwick, Ed Jarusinsky & Chris "Rusty" Gebhard.
