About the Hiding

The Hiding (Anthony Salce, Ryan Di Cecco, Chris Salce) were recreated from previous band during the summer of 2010. This new form saw them tour Australia, and the USA, supporting some of the country’s most respected national and international acts. This new change in direction and artistic maturity saw a successful band deliver new sounds with very quick success. The Hiding released their debut self-titled EP in April 2012 which was produced by Jimi Maroudas (Kimbra, The Living End) and mixed in Los Angeles by world renowned mix engineer Mark Needham (The Killers and Imagine Dragons). The two singles from this EP were spun across 140 college radio stations throughout the USA and Canada. Furthermore, another song was selected to feature in an episode of Australian reality TV show ‘The Block’, which was seen by over 1 million viewers. Some of the band members attended CMJ’s (2011) and SXSW (2012) to get a feel for what other bands internationally were producing and to generally gain knowledge and learn about the international music market. The Hiding showcased as a band at CMJ festival in New York 2012 in conjunction with another two single releases that again secured impressive rotation on over 140+ USA College radio stations. 2013 has delivered new drummer Tom Moore, as well as performances at ANZ Stadium as part of Stone Festival headlined by Van Halen, Aerosmith, Billy Joel, and a standout gig at The Forum supporting New Zealand’s Six60. In 2014 Ryan and Anthony returned to NYC for a song writing journey. During their time there, the boys worked relentlessly on creating music that’s true and honest. Massively inspired by all the street performers and hard working original acts surrounding them, the guys returned to Australia and teamed up with producer Ryan Ritchie and vocalist Stewart Winchester. It was 2015 that saw The Hiding release the single ‘Smile at Me’, highlighting the adaption of electronic and folk influence, while keeping true to their pure and authentic storytelling lyrics. This saw the electro-pop outfit supporting Six60 at The Forum in December. 2016 saw the release of the infectious single ‘Karma My Life’. Described by Tone Deaf as ‘Melbourne’s favourite indie pop crew’, this saw The Hiding take to the road, hitting up regional Victoria on a 3 date tour, finally finishing up with a packed out double headline launch with Jack And The Kids. 'Lost Kids Balloon' Out Now!
