Nominated two years in a row for 2015 & 2016 ACMA Group of the Year as well as Fans Choice, the four talented, creative and seasoned recording artists who make up the Dirt Road Angels are: Danita Lynn from Plamondon, AB; Shila Marie from Tofield, AB; Karen Claypool from Spruce Grove, AB and Dahlia Wakefield from Maidstone, SK. Their latest 6-song EP called "Paint The Town Red", features catchy, edgy country rock songs such as the title track; as well as heartwarming "Best Friend" and tender, reminiscent "Memories", which was a finalist in the 2014 International Acoustic Music Awards as well as the 2014 Calgary Folk Music Songwriting contest which were songs that they performed at their 2014 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Diamonds in the Rough showcase. The Dirt Road Angels released their 3rd fun summer single “Make Me Wanna” along with their new music video produced by Fade Back Studios in July 2016 and have had much success with it. They released their second single “Paint The Town Red” to Canadian country radio in July 2015, which followed their upbeat bluegrass debut single “Back Around The Mountain” in March 2015 along with an entertaining lyric video on their YouTube channel. Performing the tracks on their new album were 2013 CCMA Award Winners Chad Melchert (Drummer of the Year), Bart MacKay (Keyboardist of the Year), and Tyler Vollrath (Mandolin Player of the Year) including 2012 CCMA Guitarist Player of the Year Ryan Davidson and Derek Stremel on bass. From the dirt road to the main stage, the Dirt Road Angels have had fun making miles on their various tours where they had been invited to perform at several high-profile events including the following festivals: (Festival Place Patio Series, Beaumont Blues Festival, Blueberry Bluegrass Music Festival, Music on the River in Enderby BC, Darwell Barnburner, Taste of Edmonton, Canadian Rockies Music Festival, the Athabasca River Rats Festival, Festival of Trees, Rose City Rumble, Todd Filiatrault Cancer Fundraiser, River City Roundup, etc.), as well as rodeos (Rainmaker Rodeo, Ponoka Stampede, Boyle Rodeo, Woodlands Whitecourt Rodeo, Lamont Summer Sizzler), casinos, theatres and gala events across Alberta as well as in the Edmonton area, where they all reside. They’ve enjoyed sharing the stage with some of Canada’s top country acts such as Kira Isabella, Tim Hicks, High Valley, Boom Chucka Boys, Duane Steele, The Road Hammers, Aaron Pritchett, and Doc Walker, as well as U.S. acts Blackjack Billy, Collin Raye, Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw, and more. The Dirt Road Angels rock every stage with their infectious energy, enthusiasm and camaraderie, and their blend of lush harmonies is truly angelic. They work well together as a team and their future is as bright as their red lipstick. The gals are currently writing and recording their new album and are looking forward to their third commercial release.
