About Forest Fires

Since Forest Fires played their first show in 2011. They have been nominated at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards for "Best Newcomer", played a Radio 1 live session for Ally McCrae, launched their debut EP, released a handful of videos and played a headline tour across Scotland, as well as receiving local and national press coverage. Named as one of Vic Galloways 'bands to watch in 2013' Here are some thoughts from people about the group: “They are the sort of band that will be filling stadiums in the future!” – Ally McCrae, Radio 1 "muscular yet melodic rock" - Vic Galloway, Radio 1 "A high octane musical shafting!" - Hamish, Vukovi “Forest Fires have a unique sound. I know that term gets thrown around a lot but I think it works with them. The chords and melody work set them apart from other bands with the same kind of vibe. Intricate guitar work, Buckley-esq singing in places and a good solid foundation in with the bass and drums. Fucking awesome man” – Greg, Skippy Dyes “I think Forest Fires is about excitement. Sonically and musically the band seems to move past momentary excitement and pleasure and maintains this momentum and overdrive forward.” – Danen, Datavus “These guys have such an astute grasp of the poppy alternative vibe. The melodies are insanely catchy (just go listen to 'Trial and Error') ...and Scott's voice is so damn pleasant to listen too. Big things await them.”- Kenneth, Higher Than Kites "Very energetic, this four piece band brings a fresh sound that is a pleasure to listen to. It's catchy licks, driving bass and strong vocals really shines through and Forest Fires are defiantly a band to look out for" – Craig, The Asps “Taking to the stage after Forest Fires was an intimidating thought after they won the crowd over with brilliantly catchy riffs and an extremely tight performance. Despite being one of Aberdeens newest bands, they are a definite favourite of mine. Big things to come from this band in future!” – Elliot, Eleven Eleven 'We met Forest Fires on our first ever Scottish tour - we were booked in to a venue in Aberdeen, where we'd never played before, and after asking around, were told by a few trusted mates that we should definitely try and book Forest Fires for the show too. Really enjoyed the lads set that night - and a few weeks later, we were playing the Picture House with them in Edinburgh, which was a fantastic night. Great band, great lads, and a pleasure to have played with - hopefully won't be too long till we do it again.' – Rob, Finding Albert “We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to play alongside Forest Fires earlier this year, as it is only a matter of time before they explode on the UK music scene. A truly fantastic live band”- The Virtues Winner of "Best Rock/Alternative" at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2014.
