About A Filetta

A Filetta has an outstanding career. Founded in Corsica in 1978, this vocal ensemble composed of 6 singers not only contributed to the preservation of the island’s oral heritage but also produced one of the most audacious polyphonic music of the time. Characterized by an extraordinary inventiveness, the ensemble gave back its status of Mediterranean crossroads to Corsica, notably with compositions anchored between East and West, between memory and utopia.

A career punctuated with seminal artistic encounters :
• Cinema more than 10 film scores with Bruno Coulais, such as Himalaya or Comme un aimant, etc.
• Dance : compositions for three of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s choreographies, including Puz/zle created for the Festival d’Avignon in 2012,
• Theatre Medea by Jean-Yves Lazennec, etc.
• Creations and shared stage with Paolo Fresu and Daniele di Bonaventura (Italy), Kodo (Japan), Danyèl Waro (Reunion), Conductus (Italy), the Bulgarka Quartet (Bulgaria), Les Voix de Géorgie (Georgia), Fadia Tomb El-Hage (Lebanon), Gabriel Yacoub (France), Les ballets de Monte-Carlo, etc.
