Tom Claringbold is a musician & songwriter born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Currently enrolled at Melbourne Polytechnic in the Diploma of Sound, Tom is intrigued by the role of producers and wants to discover all the secrets he can in the field of music production. "I first picked up the guitar at around the age of 12. Actually, my dad was the one getting lessons once a week, and I tagged along one afternoon and kind of took over his lesson. From then onward they were my lessons! Sorry dad haha" Artists that Tom has found influential include John Mayer, David Ryan Harris, Melissa Polinar, Ed Sheeran, India Arie, Jason Mraz and many more. "I'd say John Mayer is my biggest influence so far. I've learned most of my guitar skills from him. You know what though? When I first heard John's music I wasn't particularly interested. I wasn't a very good guitarist at that point either. It was only after I spent weeks and weeks learning his songs 'Neon' and 'Stop This Train' that I realized how insanely talented and creative he is.
