DJ MOAR

Moar, dj producer and remixer since 1993, artistic director at Trad Vibe Records, host of the Free Your Mind Radio Show on Radio Meuh, producer and DJ under the alias Jay Airiness and one half of the Indie-Dance project Venice Beach.

He has produced and remixed artists like Dj Cam, Cortex, Lord Funk, Kohndo (La Cliqua), Sarsha Simone, Anais, Goodka, Raashan Ahmad, Dee Nasty, DJ Apt One, Marie & Les Garcons or Escort, played prestigious venues like the Jazz Café in London, the Zenith in Paris or Cully Jazz in Switzerland, toured the United States and Spain with his project Venice Beach.

Moar is a part of the Nantes’ history, the history of Hip Hop and Djing culture that he is a part of from its very begingings. Listening to him telling anecdotes makes you understand the complexity of Hip Hop culture and is always very entertaining. One can feel a strong awareness of pedagogy and catchiness. Moar sharpened his pedagogical skills as a electronic music teacher in western France , was running a skate shop in which he implemented a vinyl corner and was selling streat wear brands like royal wear by the Rapper Sully. True to his Hip Hop roots, Moar is also a long time black wax addict who used to spend all his money on 12 inch records in the notorious LTD record shop in Paris – les Halles. Paris where he ends up settling down in 2004 to start Trad Vibe records with his mate Ludo. The label’s first release ‘ Mes Influences ‘ with guest Mcs like Kohndo from La Cliqua or Madjir will be re issued in Japan by the prestigeous label P Vine. The meeting with Alain Mion from the legendary Jazz Funk band Cortex marks a turning point with the label as Moar now takes care of Cortex re presses and some of the remixes. He produces Dee Nasty’s album and collaborates with Rashaan Ahmad as his tour Dj. He produces the album “ Groovology “ with Dj Goodka, Tribute to B Boys as well as the opus “ Ultimate Disco Breaks “ alongside Lord Funk. Prolific and hard-working are definitely words that define Moar very well : he makes guest appearences as an experienced beatmaker in the documentary ‘ Smells Like Hip Hop ‘ in the book ‘ Certifiés Hip Hop ‘ by Etienne Kervella, in David Blot’s shows on radio Nova , in Underground Explorer ( Générations 88.2 ) Future Basics on Radio Campus , Aline aux pays des Merveilles and Rider Zone on France O. He produces the Funky Saturday parties in Paris and becomes the artistic director of the Panic Room. Moar’s other passion is live radio and the circle comes back around. He hosts the monthly radio show ‘ Free Your Mind ‘ on Radio Meuh and has sharpened his skills on Graffiti Urban Radio and Radio Prun in Nantes. And after over 25 years of digging the crates, spinning wax and producing beats, his passion for music and Hip Hop culture remains intact.
