Silk 'N' Oak

Silk ’N’ Oak, a rock n roll power trio, hail from the Scenic Rim - a beautiful valley south-east of Brisbane. The band consists of brothers Rick & Troy on guitar and bass, and an old school friend, Lachlan, on drums.

Since forming in 2013, Silk ’N’ Oak have completed five east-coast tours, released a self-titled EP, four singles, three music videos and they’ve hosted two successful boutique music festivals in South-East Queensland, Australia.
In the early days, after playing in bands with classmates and friends, the boys decided to have a go on their own: winning the busking competition at Urban Country Music Festival on their first outing in early 2014. Rick & Troy made the UCMF line up again in 2015 and 2016 and have since played Airlie Beach Festival of Music, Gympie Music Muster, Caxton Street Festival and O'Heart Festival.

The momentum didn't stop in 2016 though. After a successful first tour, with Troy only 17 years of age, the lads spent nearly two months in Tasmania, follow by a few weeks in the studio where they recorded their debut EP.

The songsters then organised and hosted an extremely successful debut EP launch, called The Silk 'N' Oak Show, where they combined efforts with Parkie’s Adventures Inc. to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease. Immediately after the festival, they embarked on Part#1 and Part#2 of their Debut EP Release tour - playing a handful of shows between Townsville and Hobart.

The bands most recent release, Troubleland, was released in 2018 alongside their first ticketed event at Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall.

Silk ’N’ Oak head into their seventh year excited as ever to share their combination of folk, rock, blues, and funk to deliver music and live shows that light up even the darkest places.
